Notice of Consent Applications

United Counties of Prescott and Russell - Consent Approval Authority

Take Notice that the Consent Approval Authority for the Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell has received applications for consent under Section 53(1) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13 as amended.

Notice of collection

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act of 2001, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Planning Act, and all other relevant legislation. Personal information may be used in the decision-making process on the applications, and it may be used to contact you if clarification of your comment is required. It may be shared (along with your comment) with other United Counties and Prescott and Russell departments or agencies for use in the decision-making process. All personal information (as defined by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act), including (but not limited to) names, addresses, opinions, and comments collected, will be made available for public disclosure. Questions regarding the collection, use and disclosure of this personal information may be directed to the Planning and Forestry Department.

Appeal

If a person or public body has the ability to appeal the decision of the Consent Approval Authority of the Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell in respect of the proposed consent to the Ontario Land Tribunal but does not make written submissions to the Consent Approval Authority of the Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell before it gives or refuses to give a provisional consent, the Tribunal may dismiss the appeal.

Appeal of a decision of the Consent Approval Authority in respect of this consent may only be made by the applicant, the Minister, a specified person, or any public body not later than 20 days after notice of the decision is given. If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Consent Approval Authority for the Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell in respect of a proposed consent, you must make a written request to the Planning and Forestry Department by email at planning@prescott-russell.on.ca or by regular post at the mailing address below.

UNITED COUNTIES OF PRESCOTT AND RUSSELL AND MUNICIPALITIES WEED SPRAYING OF POSTS AND GUIDERAILS

Herb-O-Dem Inc, the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and participating Municipalities intend to control weeds along guard rails and posts along the following rural roadsides. This pesticide use is for the promotion of public health or safety under the public works exception to the cosmetic pesticide ban in order to control and protect against the plants that could affect public works structures. The list of roads to be sprayed within the United Counties of Prescott and Russell is as follows.

The following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada) will be used: ARSENAL Powerline Herbicide (PCP #30203), which contains the active ingredient: Imazapyr (present as the isopropylamine salt), ClearView Herbicide (PCP #29752), which contains the active ingredients: Metsulfuron – methyl and Aminopyralid (present as potassium salt), Nufarm ESTAPROP XT Liquid Herbicide (PCP #29660), which contains the active ingredients: Dichlorprop and 2,4-D (both present as 2-ethylhexyl ester).

From May 27^th, 2024, to June 14^th, 2024, depending on the weather.

Residents also have the possibility to erect a “No Spray” sign in front of their property.
