One of the best ways to discover a region is to get out of your car and hit the roads and trails on foot or by bike. Walking or cycling allows you to take in more of the scenery, breathe in the fresh air of our rural region, discover local businesses, and get some exercise. We suggest several types of outings, from thrilling mountain bike rides to healthy strolls in the forest. In fact, in addition to the many trails to discover in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, one of the largest cycling and walking network is found in the Larose Forest.
Trail Cycling
The recreational trail is a safe and multifunctional trail that crosses the entire territory of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. With a distance of 72 km, the trail is used in the winter for snowmobiling and in the summer for walking and biking. Mainly in rock dust, four sections of 2 km are paved, in the villages of Bourget, Plantagenet, Vankleek Hill, and St-Eugène.
You can discover the Larose Forest by mountain bike in summer and fat bike in winter. In the Larose Forest, some trails are reserved for a single activity and others are shared, so be sure to check the trail maps before going on your adventure.
