Mandate
The mandate of the Emergency Services is to protect citizens through the management and delivery of services, such as paramedic services, 9-1-1, and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell Emergency Measures Plan.
Services are provided in accordance with the laws and regulations stipulated by the Ambulance Act, the Personal Health Information Protection Act 2004, and the Emergency Prepardness Act and Emergency Management Ontario.
In accordance with the Ontario Ambulance Act, Regulation 257/00 (Part II, Section 3 (1) - CCAA III, Section (a)), the Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and its Emergency Services provide primary and advanced care paramedic services.
Objective
To keep our communities healthy, the goal of the Emergency Services is to provide a variety of health care services to residents and visitors of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. These services include emergency medical care (9-1-1) and community paramedicine. The Emergency Services work closely with community partners such as the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, family health centres, Hawkesbury and District General Hospital, and long-term care homes.
