The Prescott-Russell Residence Foundation (the “Foundation”) is pleased to announce the presentation of a $250,000 cheque to the Prescott and Russell Residence, a significant contribution made possible by the overwhelming support and participation of many donors in the Lift-Me Up fundraiser. The presentation was made at the Regular Council Meeting of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell on November 27, 2024, by Mrs. Denise Robitaille, Foundation President, and the Foundation’s delegation.
The funds raised will be used to support the mission of the Prescott and Russell Residence, which is to offer a variety of quality care and services, based on a genuine commitment to create a family-oriented and secure environment that fosters the autonomy of the residents. This donation will help enhance the quality of life of residents with the purchase of 110 Maxi Sky 2 ceiling lifts.
“We are extremely grateful for the support of the community and the dedication of our donors,” said Mrs. Denise Robitaille, President of the Foundation. “The lifts will have a considerable impact on the lives of the people living at the Prescott and Russell Residence and on the safety of the support staff, and we are honoured to contribute to such a noble cause.”
Mr. Eric Larocque, Administrator of the Prescott and Russell Residence, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation: “The generosity of the Prescott-Russell Residence Foundation and its donors is truly inspiring. This contribution will enable us to provide state-of-the art equipment, ensuring that our residents receive the best possible care.”
The Lift-Me Up fundraising campaign, which started in April 2024 and will continue in 2026, saw an outpouring of generosity from individuals, businesses, and community groups. The success of the campaign underscores the community’s dedication to supporting the Foundation and the vital services of the Prescott and Russell Residence.
