Following a rigorous assessment process, Accreditation Canada, the country's leader in health care accreditation, has concluded that the Prescott and Russell Residence exceeds the requirements of the Qmentum program and excels in improving the quality of its provision of services.
"I am extremely grateful to all the Residence’s staff who were able to create, promote, and maintain a culture and environment that allow our residents to benefit from an unparalleled quality of care and a living environment that exceeds the highest standards in the industry," said Eric Larocque, Administrator of the Prescott and Russell Residence.
As part of this review of the quality of services provided by the facility, four main areas were assessed: community relations, staffing and quality of work life, care and service delivery, and client satisfaction. Site visits were also conducted at the Residence to assess the care provided and to paint an accurate picture of the overall experience of staff, residents, and families. Due to its best practices, the Residence was awarded a prestigious Honourable Mention.
"Considering the challenges faced by the Residence during the pandemic and all the sacrifices that staff have had to make to ensure the well-being of our residents, I am proud to note the level of excellence of our long-term care facility," said Warden Normand Riopel. "Despite the recurring recruitment challenges in the health care field, the findings of this report are also very encouraging in view of the opening of the new Residence”.
The new Prescott and Russell Residence, with a total capacity of 224 beds, will provide residents with an improved living environment. With its modern design and equipment, staff members will benefit from a state-of-the-art work environment. The $90-million Redevelopment Project is on track to welcome its first residents in the spring of 2024. Anyone interested in joining the Residence team is encouraged to apply now.
