The United Counties of Prescott and Russell would like to provide an update on the rehabilitation work that is underway on the Albert Bélanger Bridge, located on County Road 8 in Lemieux, which should reopen at the beginning of December.
“Unfortunately, in projects of the magnitude of the Albert Bélanger Bridge repair, there can always be unforeseen events. In addition, the cold season that is just around the corner can have an impact on schedules,” explained Jérémie Bouchard, Director of Public Works. “We are working closely with teams on the ground to move construction work forward quickly as we are in the final critical phases of the project. We know that the closure of the bridge has a great impact on the daily lives of the citizens of the region and we want to reopen it to traffic as soon as possible.”
As the bridge had to be fully lifted to carry out the work that began in February 2023, the lanes in both directions were completely closed to ensure the proper implementation of the project.
