A Message from the Warden, Normand Riopel
It is with great humility, honour, and conviction that I accept to, once again, serve as Warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. As we continue to face important challenges and undertake critical changes, I pledge to work tirelessly and to invest myself fully for the good of all communities in the Prescott and Russell region.
I would like to thank my predecessor, Mr. Pierre Leroux, former Mayor of the Township of Russell and former Warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, for his important work during the first months of the year.
For the rest of 2024, I plan to use my municipal experience, my passion for our region, and my understanding of regional matters to continue working on some of the priorities that were outlined by Mr. Leroux at the beginning of his term in office and to continue the work I had started as the 2023 Warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. This includes having a balanced and responsible budget process, implementing road safety initiatives, improving access to natural gas, developing infrastructure, and strengthening our ties with the local municipalities and our neighbouring regions.
Furthermore, as we approach the grand opening of our new Prescott and Russell Residence, I will continue to support all of the hard work that is being put into this immense project – a project that promises to improve the quality of life of our residents. I would like to thank all of the dedicated people who have participated in its development over the years.
I am very proud of what our region has accomplished and of how it continues to grow. The United Counties of Prescott and Russell are full of possibilities and opportunities. This is why it is important that we continue working together to promote our wonderful region – our home.
Your Warden,
Normand Riopel
