The Prescott and Russell Entrepreneurship Centre (the “PREC”) and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (the “UCPR”) are proud to recognize the achievements of the 2026 Summer Company program’s six participants. This initiative helps young people turn their business ideas into successful ventures.
Summer Company is one of the programs of Ontario’s Small Business Enterprise Centre (the “SBEC”), delivered locally by the PREC and funded in partnership with the Government of Ontario.
Throughout the summer, participants received personalized business guidance, mentorship, and financial support to help develop their entrepreneurial projects. This year, a total investment of $18,000 was provided to support the launch of six local businesses.
The 2026 businesses
Studio Belle Danse & Fitness– Plantagenet
Founded by Annabelle Chartrand, an 18-year-old student, Studio Belle Danse & Fitness offers dance, fitness, and Bungee Fitness classes in a welcoming and energetic environment. Her business aims to promote an active lifestyle, while bringing members of the community together.
Chartrand Home Air Solutions – Embrun
Jacob Chartrand, a 21-year-old student, is the founder of Chartrand Home Air Solutions, a business specializing in residential radon testing and the installation of radon mitigation systems. His goal is to help homeowners improve indoor air quality and create safer living environments for their families.
Jen's Doodles – Clarence-Creek
Jennie Waugh, a 17-year-old student, launched Jen's Doodles to provide face painting and henna services for festivals, parties, and special events. Her creativity adds a colourful and memorable touch to every occasion.
LA BEAUTY.VKH – Vankleek Hill
Through LA BEAUTY.VKH, Lyla Anderson, a 15-year-old student, offers personalized nail services, along with other beauty services, in a professional and welcoming environment. Her business focuses on high-quality service and providing each client with a customized experience.
Rockland Elite Technical Training – Rockland
Olivier Dugas, a 16-year-old student, founded Rockland Elite Technical Training to provide personalized technical soccer training sessions. His goal is to help young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and passion for the game.
Shots by Seb – Limoges
Through Shots by Seb, Sebastian Boissonneault, a 16-year-old student, offers sports, portrait, and event photography. With a creative eye and a strong attention to detail, he captures authentic and memorable moments.
The Summer Company participants were supported by four local mentors: Éric Charlebois (Apprends et entreprends, Compétences entrepreneuriales+), Louis Béland (Folio5 service-conseil, Compétences entrepreneuriales+), Kathy Chaumont (Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien), and Marc Lecompte (Kwik Tax). They generously shared their expertise throughout the summer, and the PREC is very grateful.
The PREC also wishes to thank the program sponsor, the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien, for its valuable support and commitment to fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs.
