Update regarding access to UCPR offices and services

The United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) wishes to advise that access to its offices and services continues to be very restricted for health and safety reasons related to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Effective as of today at noon, most employees working in the UCPR's offices have been requested to work from home, until further notice. As a result, clients and visitors are also being asked not to present themselves on the premises.

Please note the updates regarding the following services:

Closure of home-based daycares

  • The Prescott and Russell Licensed Home Child Care Agency will close the home-based daycares, effective at the end of the day on Tuesday, March 17, 2020;
  • Home-based daycares will remain closed from March 18 until April 5, inclusively, as per the recommendation from the Ministry of Health.
  • Clients will not be billed for these days and these closures come without any cost to parents.

EarlyON Child and Family Centres

  • The EarlyON Centre in Rockland is closed as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
  • All programs offered in the community by the EarlyON Child and Family Centres are cancelled for an undetermined period of time.

Administrative building (L'Orignal)

  • The UCPR Administrative building remains closed for the majority of services, except for emergency cases regarding Ontario Works and Housing Services.

Ontario Works

  • The Ontario Works office in Rockland is closed.

Prescott and Russell Residence

  • Access to the Prescott and Russell Residence, the long-term care home located in Hawkesbury, remains limited to essential visitors until further notice.

Provincial Offences Office

  • All Provincial Offences Act matters scheduled from Monday, March 16, 2020, through to and including Friday, April 3, 2020, will be adjourned and rescheduled to a later date.
  • If you have a matter scheduled during this time, you do not need to attend court, as per the notice of the Ministry of the Attorney General and the Order of the Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice.
