The Larose Forest region provides a habitat for one of the rare populations of moose in Southern Ontario. The United Counties of Prescott and Russell’s territory is divided into eight hunting zones, to which a restricted number of hunters have access every year.
Special permission from the United Counties is required for moose hunting in all wooded areas under its jurisdiction. This permission is available, at a cost of $75 (plus HST), at the United Counties’ administration office in L’Orignal, once you have received your tag from the Ministry. This can be obtained by visiting the administration office or by calling the following telephone number.
