Nomination of the next UCPR Treasurer

On May 22nd, 2019, Council of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) approved the nomination of the next Treasurer, Ms. Valérie Parisien.

Valérie Parisien comes to the UCPR from the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, where she has worked since 2017 as Treasurer and more recently as Interim Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to that, she held the position of senior auditor at the Deloitte accounting firm for several years.

Ms. Parisien will begin as Treasurer in Training as of September 2, 2019, and will support the current Treasurer, Mrs. Julie Ménard-Brault, until her forthcoming retirement.

“On behalf of Council, I wish to congratulate Ms. Parisien for her nomination. We are pleased to have found a replacement with her financial experience, as well as a familiarity of the municipal environment and its inherent challenges,” stated Robert Kirby, Warden of the UCPR.

“We also wish to thank Mrs. Ménard-Brault for her hard work and dedication over her many years of service, and we wish her an excellent retirement,” added Warden Kirby.

Ms. Parisien holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Ottawa, a Graduate Diploma in Accounting Studies, and is also a member of the CPA College of Quebec and Ontario, as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CA, CPA).
