Province investigates Ottawa paramedic service and dispatch process
L'Orignal, December 5, 2016 – Following a request made by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care earlier this year, the Province has conducted an investigation into the operational impacts and financial ramifications on the UCPR's ambulance service and the impact on its communities.

Specifically, the Ministry's investigation examined the practices of the Ottawa Paramedic Service as well as the Ottawa Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC), the latter of which is responsible for dispatch in the region. The Ministry's investigation "identified several factors that contributed to an overall, ongoing and systemic problem."

The report was prepared by the Investigation Services Unit of the Emergency Health Services Branch of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
