Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network

In 2007, economic development stakeholders and local producers sharing the same vision created a group dedicated to the development of the agri-food sector in the counties of Prescott and Russell and Stormont-Dundas & Glengarry. Since then, the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network (EOAN) has helped many local producers and food processors by offering them outstanding services, opportunities for visibility and support.  The nutritional labelling and the largely distributed local food map are just a few examples of the services offered by the EOAN to its members.

La Foire Gourmande, a foodie’s event held since 2009 by the EOAN, gives great visibility and exposure to local producers and helps them sell their products to the community. The recent implementation of the Prescott-Russell Local Products Counters initiative also offers the possibility to the EOAN members to sell their local products in grocery stores in the region. This successful initiative is helping many producers gain market shares and promote their products.

Furthermore, the EOAN is exploring the possibilities of developing a Food Hub and commercial kitchen in the Prescott and Russell region to help aggregate, process, market and distribute local products in and outside of the region. This initiative ill definitel be a cornerstone for the Network and is just an another example of the substantial support offered to its members.
